Rare Indo-Dutch Ebony Four Poster Bed with Fluted Legs

Very rare and special solid ebony Anglo-Indian four poster bed with heavily fluted posts and canopy. Headboard has curved top rail with carved shell design in the center above spindle turned posts. Footboard has spindle turned posts between two fluted rails. Mattress or box spring sits directly on wooden platform (not shown). Top posts connect via solid brass sleeves. Side rails connect via large solid brass bolts.

A mattress that fit perfectly (no overlap or underlap) would measure 71 3/4 W by 81 1/2 D. The bed height (to top of mattress rail) = 21.5.
